Biking: A variety of both on and off road are available throughout the valley. Bike hire is available from both Beddgelert and Caernarfon.

Further afield for those wishing to experience to big trials you have the Marin Trail (Betws y Coed), Coed y Brenin and in planning at PenMachno.

Climbing: Tremadoc, Llanberis, Ogwen and of course the great climbing areas on Snowdon itself.

Diving: Dorothea and Vivien quarries plus the vast coastline of the Llyn peninsular and Anglesey.

Fishing: The local lakes (Llyn y Gadir & Llyn Cwellyn) and rivers provide an excellent challenge. Permits and maps are available from the Cwellyn Arms.

Golfing: Royal Caernarfon, Bangor, Beaumaris, Llanrug and Porthmadoc.

Kayaking: With such a variety of choices from flat water in the various Lakes to the white water running through the twisting and dropping landscape to the open sea you’ll never be found without a venue to pit your skills against.


Sailing: With the Menai strait and the coast of Anglesey you’ll never be at a loss for somewhere to sail.
